Kenneth W. “Bubba” Hachet, 67, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

He was born in New Orleans and attended elementary school in the state of Washington before returning to LaPlace. He was a graduate of De LaSalle High School and attended Louisiana State University. He then served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Mayport, Fla. Upon his honorable discharge, he began his career as manager of the family-owned business, Roussel’s Restaurant.

Bubba was married to Margie L. Richoux for 46 years. From this union came their daughter, Andree H. Schumacher (Matt), and their son, Warren J. Hachet. Bubba is also survived by his grandchildren, Kailee, Jordan, Allee, Jessie and Shelby and his sister, Suzanne H. McCann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elmire “Coo” Roussel Hachet.

He enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the time he spent at his second home, his camp in Dulac. He was an avid LSU fan and supporter of Tiger athletics. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed having a great time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., followed by religious services in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
