Suspect Wanted in Armed Robbery at Tangipahoa Landfill

Independence, LA – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in identifying an armed robbery suspect.
Chief Jimmy Travis says shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday, an armed robbery took place at the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill on Hano Road where an armed security guard was beaten with the suspects pistol, and then robbed of her own firearm and personal belongings. While at the landfill, the suspect also burglarized the building along with several vehicles on scene.
The suspect is described as a tall, skinny black male who was wearing a blue jumpsuit and a mask at the time of the robbery.
The security guard was transported to the hospital and treated for moderate injuries.
