NORCO — Norco artist and mother of three Summer McCune, founder of NolaBee awareness jammies, has made it to the final round of the national Super Mom competition. She is one of 12 mothers across the nation competing for the chance to win a two-page magazine article in Women’s World Magazine and funds to continue philanthropic deeds.
Voting ends at 9 p.m. Thursday, June 8. Those wishing to support McCune can use the following link to vote: https://thesupermom.org/2023/summer-zeringue-mccune
Inspired by her daughter, Adler, who has been diagnosed with a pediatric feeding disorder, McCune designs pajamas to raise awareness for a variety of pediatric conditions while sharing the heartfelt stories of children in her community.
McCune said, “It’s a great honor to be in the running for this opportunity and incredibly humbling to have the support of my community behind me. I’m looking forward to utilizing the funds from this campaign to continue to raise awareness for children in the greater New Orleans area and beyond who are on their own medical journeys.”
She continued, “I started this endeavor to raise awareness for my daughter and to be a friend/resource to other caregivers who may also be walking the path of pediatric feeding disorders, and then felt a strong calling to use my artwork in a new meaningful way for other diagnoses as well! I hope to help children around the world put a face with a diagnosis and hope to cultivate an opportunity for guardians to have difficult conversations with their little ones.”
A portion of the proceeds from the pajama line are donated to Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.
