LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Community Network is hosting an Early Childhood Education Network Round-Up to inform the public about services available for children ages birth to 5 years old.

It takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the West St. John Elementary School cafeteria.

Parents will be able to learn more about early childhood programs offered by the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District such as Head Start, LA4, Model Early and universal pre-kindergarten, as well as pick up applications for these programs.

Also in attendance will be local day cares that have partnered with the school district to provide continuity in education for area children.

The St. John the Baptist Parish Community Network Pilot is an effort led locally by the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District and community partners.

The effort works under a state pilot program aimed at developing a unified enrollment program for parents seeking childcare services for children ages birth to 5 years.

The goal is to ensure children participate in high-quality early childhood programs so they enter kindergarten ready to learn.
