The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in locating a runaway juvenile from Hammond, LA.
Chief Jimmy Travis says 15 year old Abigayle McKinney was last seen around 10:00 PM on April 9, 2023 at her home near Oak Knoll Country Club east of Hammond.
Juvenile detectives are confident Abigayle left on her own accord, as she left a note for her grandmother apologizing for “having to leave so suddenly”, and also has a history of running away in the past. Abigayle is believed to be headed to or already in the Springfield area with a friend named “James” (unknown age or race).
Abigayle is described as a white female, 5’7″ tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds with black hair and blue eyes. Abigayle was last seen wearing black leggings and a gray hoodie with a red/green circle, however she left home in the middle of the night and therefore her clothing may have changed.
Chief Travis asks anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Abigayle to call 911, OR if you wish to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa’s anonymous tip line at 1-800-554-5245 or visit www.tangicrimestoppers.com and click on the P3 Tips icon or Submit A Tip!
