Tigers roar at Associated Builders and Contractors competition

ST.ROSE—Henry Cologne, carpentry and woodworking teacher at Hahnville High School, and his students, who were chosen based off of their skill levels and consistency to exhibit exceptional safety awareness throughout the semester, traveled on March 24 to the Associated Builders and Contractors Campus located in St. Rose. The students competed in the Associated Builders and Contractors 2023 New Orleans/Bayou Chapter High School Competition. Aidan Machado, Sergio Capitano, Khalid Alyounes, and Dakota Morales competed in the Carpentry portion of the competition and received 1st place. The judgements were based off of a 50 question written test and how much the students could complete in the time frame of an hour and a half with accurate measurements and a durable structure. Dawson Daigle competed in the Welding portion of the competition and received 2nd place. The judgements were based off of his welding skills and a 50 question written test as well.
