Paradis man arrested; caught while breaking into a vehicle

January 4, 2022, just after 5:30 am, deputies responded to the report of a male caught breaking into a truck in the 13000 block of Old Spanish Trail in Boutte at the Cypress Land RV Park. The caller, after a brief struggle and with assistance from a family member, kept the male at the location until deputies arrived.
Upon arrival, deputies located the caller and male, later identified as Tyriq White, a twenty-one-year-old from Paradis, LA. Deputies found a stolen wallet where White had been laying. A stolen handgun was also found near White, partially under the caller’s truck.
Tyriq White was arrested and charged with three counts of Simple Burglary of a Vehicle and a 29th JDC Attachment for Failure to Appear on Possession of Stolen Property.
This is an ongoing investigation.
