Former Destrehan High School teacher arrested for sexual conduct

This morning, the St. Charles Parish Sheriffโs Office arrested Kyle Aucoin-Melohn, a 32-year-old male, of 4109 Cleveland Place in Metairie, LA, on a warrant for one count of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student, and one count of molestation of a juvenile.
Aucoin-Melohn, whose employment at Destrehan High School ended earlier this month, allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a student who attended Destrehan High School at the time. The contact occurred at the school when the student was 16 and 17 years old from 2017 through 2020.
The contact was first reported to the St. Charles Parish Sheriffโs Office through an anonymous tip on Thursday, December 1, 2022, reporting Kyle Aucoin-Melohn, a teacher at Destrehan High School was molesting male students.
Through investigation, detectives obtained sufficient probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Kyle Aucoin-Melohn.
This investigation was conducted with the full cooperation of the St. Charles Parish Schools. The investigation is ongoing with their continued cooperation.

A spokesperson for St. Charles Parish Public Schools released the following statement Tuesday morning following Aucoin-Melohnโs arrest:
โWe are awareย that a former Destrehan High School employee is currently under investigation by the St. Charles Parish Sheriffโs Office. The school system is cooperating with the Sheriffโs Office and is conducting its own investigation. The safety and well-being of our students remain priorities. No further information regarding the situation may be given as this is a personnel matter, and we are following the appropriate policy, procedures and law for next steps.โ
