Sean Gautreaux, 40, of LaPlace was arrested Sunday, November 13, 2022 after trespassing near Marathon’s pumping station on West Airline Highway in Garyville.
On Sunday, November 13, 2022, about 11:30 p.m., officer observed a suspicious vehicle with the lights off parked in a back lot near the pumping station. Officers approached the vehicle and discovered a female subject sleeping inside the vehicle. After waking the female, officers learned she had been riding around with Gautreaux and another male subject and she fell asleep in the vehicle. She reported that she did not know the whereabouts of Gautreaux and the other subject.
Officers began surveillance of the area and observed a male subject, identified as Gautreaux, along with another male subject, wandering behind a chain-link fence and gates on the private property of the station. As officers attempted to make contact with Gautreaux, he began running into the woods. Shortly after, officers apprehended Gautreaux. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the other male subject.
Gautreaux was charged with unauthorized entry of a place of business (felony) and resisting an officer. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $6,500 bond. Currently, there are several open theft cases involving Gautreaux.
Since 2003, Gautreaux has been arrested 17 times on theft charges in St. John Parish.
Gautreaux also was wanted on a bench warrant for simple burglary in St. James Parish.
