HAHNVILLE — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office made seven arrests in just over a week related to two rape investigations.

Arrest records indicate five teenagers, including 15-year-old and 16-year-old juvenile boys, were arrested Oct. 24 in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl.

Capt. Patrick Yoes of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said the victim was acquaintances with the 15-year-old who allegedly raped her, but said no other information about the attack would be released in efforts not to further victimize the girl.

The boy, who was charged with forcible rape, was not identified because he is a juvenile. The four other males involved, including a 16-year-old Destrehan male, were booked with being principals to forcible rape. Yoes said they watched the attack.

The 16-year-old was also charged with theft of goods after allegedly stealing the victim’s cell phone.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the three adult suspects as Qwaman Kenner, 18, of Luling; Cornell Clay, 18, of St. Rose; and Rashaud Capers, 17, of Destrehan.

As of press time Friday morning, Yoes said Kenner and Clay had been released on bond and he believed Capers was still in custody. Server errors with the state-run database for the Nelson Coleman Corrections Facility in St. Charles Parish prohibited confirmation of the status of the suspects.

In another case, a Luling man and a Kenner man were arrested this week in connection with the Oct. 23 aggravated rape of a 21-year-old Avondale woman.

Yoes said the attack, in which the woman was acquaintances with one of the suspects, started with the trio hanging out in St. Charles Parish before traveling together to New Orleans. On their way back from New Orleans, Yoes said the alleged rape took place in a St. Charles Parish hotel.

Raven R. , 24, of Luling and August Paul III, 23, of Kenner were arrested Tuesday and Sunday, respectively. Both are charged with aggravated rape.
