Walter E. Barthel of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Hartland, WI., passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at the age of 84.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1929, in Oshkosh, WI., the son of Walter and Louise Barthel.
He married Lucille Millet and worked as an engineer at Lockheed for many years and at Square D until he retired.
Barthel enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the cottage on Lake Winnebago.
Walter will be sadly missed by his wife, Lucille; his children, Debbie (Dave) Morsbach of Oconomowoc, WI, Chris Schultz of Williams Bay, WI, Corrie (Jeff) Fulwiler of Waukesha, WI, Louise Barthel of Hartland, WI, Brenda (Kirby) Anderson of Dallas, TX, Carol (Bob) Schneider of Waukesha, WI, Mark Barthel of Burlington, WI and Shelley Barthel of Tampa, FL.
He is further survived by 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Drew.
The visitation for Walter will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 9 to 11 a.m, the time of the Funeral Service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI.
The burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Garden at 12:30 p.m.
