Kenner Police identify victim of pedestrian killed

UPDATE: VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN TRAFFIC FATALITY OF A PEDESTRIAN
The victim of this tragic accident has been identified as Champaklal Patel, 75, Kenner.
Driver of the vehicle, Erik Rodriguez-Morales, 22, Kenner, was found not be at fault in the accident, however he was arrested for violation of LRS 32:52 No Driver’s License.

Kenner – Kenner Police are on scene of a traffic fatality involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Williams Boulevard and Veterans Boulevard. The accident occurred at 6:15 AM in the 2800 block of Williams Boulevard northbound.
Traffic officers are on scene investigating the fatality. There are several lane closures.
It is recommended drivers avoid this area, there is heavy traffic and we are receiving reports of two additional minor vehicle accidents near the same intersection which is causing heavy congestion in the area.
The fatality is an ongoing investigation.
