Sheriff Champagne announces the arrest of Christable Thomas in relation to a shooting that occurred on August 1, 2022 in 200 block of Ashton Oaks Lane Luling, Louisiana.

Initial reports indicated that an altercation occurred between family members. One subject sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound during the incident. A separate subject has been taken into custody. During the course of the investigation detectives learned that Thomas and a family member’s spouse were involved in an altercation. During the altercation, Thomas allegedly produced a handgun and discharged a single shot, striking the victim in the hand. Deputies arrived on scene and were able to take Thomas into custody without further incident.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and received medical treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.

Christable Thomas is a 39-year-old resident of Luling, LA.
