St. John Parish Public Schools announce promotions; Rebecca Johnson promoted to assistant superintendent

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools announced that Rebecca Johnson has been promoted to assistant superintendent.
Johnson holds a bachelor of science degree from Nicholls State University and a Master of Education in educational leadership from the American College of Education.
She has most recently served as a school support specialist for the Louisiana Department of Education. Johnson has also worked as an ESSA executive coordinator, served as a principal and assistant principal in Lafourche Parish schools for 10+ years, and worked as an elementary and middle school teacher.
Also receiving a promotion was Kendria Spears, director of federal/state programs and school improvement.
Spears holds a bachelor of science from Grambling State University and a master of education in administration and supervision from Southern University. She has most recently served as an assistant principal in the St. John Parish Public School system.
Spears has worked as a principal for eight years and has served as an assistant principal for five years. She has also worked as an elementary teacher and an early interventionist.
