Reserve man arrested for illegal weapons, drugs

Shawn Richardson, 50, of Reserve, a convicted felon, was arrested Friday, February 18, 2022 in connection to illegal gun possession and illegal drug activity in St. John the Baptist Parish.
Richardson was being investigated by the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division for his involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs throughout the parish.
On February 18, 2022, detectives executed an authorized search warrant at Richardson’s residence in the 300 block of Homewood Place in Reserve. Detectives located and recovered 56 grams of crack cocaine, four grams of cocaine, 281.2 grams of marijuana and $888 in cash. Detectives also discovered a digital scale and plastic bags used to prepare marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine for sales. A gun with an extended magazine holding 21 live rounds also was located in the residence.
Richardson was wanted on a felony warrant for possession of controlled dangerous schedule II substance, cocaine. He also was charged with illegal carrying of weapon w/CDS (felony), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (felony), possession with intent to distribute cocaine (felony), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine (felony), possession with intent to distribute marijuana (felony), prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia (misd).
Richardson is being held in custody in lieu of a $136,850 bond.
