Several vehicle robberies reported in St. Charles Parish

On Wednesday, February 16th 2022, just after 9:00 a.m., The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of several vehicle break-ins in the 100 block of Houmas Place.
While investigating those, another vehicle break-in was reported within the apartment complex at 1952 Ormond Blvd, as well as, a stolen 2017 Chevy Malibu from the 100 block of Apple St. was found abandoned in the 100 block of Elmwood Dr. in Ormond. Based on video footage, the stolen Malibu arrived on Elmwood Dr. at approximately 4:20 a.m.
All vehicles were left unsecured and/or the keys were left inside of them. We urge citizens to please, remember to remove valuables, electronics, jewelry, and firearms from their vehicles each night. Also, each night before you go to bed, a great tip is to set yourself a reminder to go out and make sure all of your vehicles are secured.
Citizens in the area with a home surveillance or Ring camera systems are asked to review their video footage and to contact Det. Charles Floyd of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-6807 or (985) 783-1135, if they observe any suspicious activity that may be related to the vehicle theft or break-ins.
