Sheriff Greg Champagne announces that alleged suspect Johtre Isaiah Scott was captured in the 200 block E13th St. Edgard, Louisiana just before 10:00 a.m. this morning. Scott was wanted for one (1) count of first-degree murder (LSA-R.S. 14:30) and four (4) counts of attempted first-degree murder (LSA-R.S. 14:27/30) as a result of a shooting which occurred in Killona, Louisiana on November 9, 2021 just before 6:20 P.M.

Scott is wanted for the first-degree murder of 29-year-old Darzil Washington and the attempted first-degree murder of Darville Washington (32), Dwayne Williams (27), Jayvon Lockett (35), and a 14-year-old juvenile.

Sheriff Champagne would like to thank SCSO Detectives, as well as the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District Taskforce group for their hard work and tenacity in identifying and locating Scott.
