LAPLACE — Six of the eight River Parish high school football teams advanced to the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association playoffs. Hahnville, Destrehan, West St. John, Lutcher and St. James will compete in Round One this week between November 11 and November 13. St. Charles Catholic attained a first round bye and will advance directly to the Division III quarterfinals to be played November 18-20.

Class 5A

• 12 Benton will host No. 21 Hahnville.
• 4 Destrehan will host No. 29 West Jefferson.

 

Class 3A

• 6 Lutcher will host No. 27 Carroll
• 9 St. James will host No. 24 North Webster at 7 p.m. November 12.

 

Class 1A

• 12 West St. John will face No. 21 Block. The winner will advance to play No. 5 Slaughter Community Charter in the second round.

 

Division III

• Charles Catholic will face the winner of this week’s game between No. 6 Dunham and No. 11 Holy Savior Menard during the Division III quarterfinals next week.
