Hurricane relief distributions scheduled for October 9-11

LAPLACE — The following giveaways are taking place Saturday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11 in St. John the Baptist Parish.
- A toy giveaway will be held on Saturday, October 9 beginning at 10 a.m. at the REGALA Gymnasium in Reserve. This giveaway is sponsored by Revelation Knowledge Outreach Center, Marine Reserve Toys 4 Tots and Kare4Kidz Family Service.
- Beginning at noon on Saturday, October 9, First Community Antioch Baptist Church will distribute hot food, cleaning supplies, groceries, hygiene products, snacks, water and more at 5793 Highway 18 in Wallace, on River Road near the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Dr. Steven Beckham is the interim pastor hosting this event.
- Drive-thru hot meals will be distributed from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 9 at the Winn-Dixie parking lot on Airline Highway in LaPlace. This event is sponsored by Jump and Bounce Around – Joseph Tassin, Kim Bailey, DATS DEM – Chef P. Gaudin, and Steppin’ Out and Shapin’ Up Line Dance – Susan Bailey.
- Hearts of Compassion in Action is sponsoring a hurricane relief giveaway from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 10, at 130 W. Seventh St. in Reserve, next to St. Peter Catholic Church. Clothes (men/women/children), shoes, personal items, toys and miscellaneous items will be distributed. FEMA will be on the premises. Supporters of this event include D.M.P. International Prayer Line Outreach Ministry in Reserve, Christians in Action (C.I.A.) Outreach Ministry Christ Temple of New Orleans, Caring Hearts Mission Progressive Church of Marrero, Evangelism 1st Church Training Ministry in New Orleans, Revelation Knowledge Outreach Ministry of LaPlace, Hair Stylists on a Mission (New Orleans Metro area), and From My Heart to Your Heart Ministry of LaPlace.
- Cleaning supplies along with jambalaya and fried chicken will be given away at Juan Anthony Joseph Memorial Park in Edgard on Monday, October 11, 2021, starting at noon until supplies last. This event is sponsored by Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church and Morning Star Baptist Church.
