Keir Batiste, right, a graduate of St. Charles Catholic High School, was awarded ‘A Giving Heart Scholarship.’

The award was presented by Paula Jones, left, and is in honor of her father, Elvin H. Harris.

Batiste plans to use the $500 award to pursue her education in chemistry, pre-pharmacy at Xavier University.
