DESTREHAN — Harry Hurst Middle School eighth grader Conner Fisk and sixth grader Rachael Hovis have been selected to the 2014 LA-ACDA All State Choir.

This is the third year for Conner to be in this group and the first for Rachael.

Conner will be in the Youth Mixed Ensemble, and Rachael will be in the Children’s Group.

Both students were chosen from over 400 applicants from across the state to spend two days preparing music that they will perform on in concert Oct. 25 in New Orleans.

Both students are in the HMS Choir, under the direction of Karl Harrod and assistant director Sarah Melohn.
