MANCHAC — The St. John the Baptist Parish Planning and Zoning Department will host a virtual public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 to discuss and receive comments on the development of a Manchac Greenway Master Plan.

The Manchac Greenway is a proposed bike path and recreation corridor from Main Street in LaPlace connecting through Ruddock and Akers to Hammond. The Parish proposes funding a master plan through the RESTORE Act to work with the Friends of the Manchac Greenway members and partner agency stakeholders to develop conceptual improvements for outdoor recreation, eco-tourism and preservation of wetlands.
