Easter Bunny greets more than 600 children

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre and the Easter Bunny welcomed more than 600 children to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office’s first Easter Bunny Drive-Thru March 27 at the new Lloyd B. Johnson Law Enforcement Training Center on Cambridge Drive in LaPlace.
It was great event to spread Easter cheer, Sheriff Tregre said. Families drove through the parking lot and stepped out their vehicles to take a quick picture with their own phone with the bunny. Each child also received a goodie bag filled with treats. Door prize winners were notified Monday.
Door prize winners are: Keenan Vessel, Gary O’Neal, Keith Gosey, Juetz Kirklon, Roman Mealey, Abigail Figueroa, Kennedy James, Nayla Carter and Kyia Jones.
Tatje Insurance and Financial Products and Humana partnered with the SJSO to present the free event. Door prize sponsors were Tatje Insurance and Financial Products, Team Tatje-Keller Williams, Louisiana Federal Credit Union and SJSO Employees Club. Deputy Ingrid Perrilloux spearheaded the event.
