LAPLACE — Someone will win a Harley Davidson Motorcycle Friday when Airline Motors Restaurant and the Combat Vets Association host a fundraising event benefitting the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve.

Donald Smith, a manager at Airline Motors, said the event will feature a 50/50 drawing, various auctions and door prizes, live band, delicious food and the motorcycle giveaway via a raffle.

Raffle tickets are $50, with only 400 being sold. Smith said tickets can be purchased in advance at the restaurant, located at 221 East Airline Highway in LaPlace. He said any remaining tickets will be sold at the event.

The event will last from 6 to 10 p.m., with the Harley winner announced at 9 p.m. The winner need not be present at the announcement.

Smith said the restaurant hosted a previous bike event in May, and hopes to incorporate fundraising events as a biannual function of the restaurant.
