Sullivan named company director for River Region Ballet

NORCO – The River Region Ballet, Inc. is pleased to announce that Laura Sullivan has been named Junior/Senior Company Creative Director.
Laura Sullivan began dancing at 2 years old and has been with River Region Ballet since she was 6. She has attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts summer dance workshop, International Ballet Competition Summer Intensive, and American Ballet Theatre Curriculum training. Laura has performed, choreographed and worked on the production crew in various productions. She served as president of Terpsichore Dance Theater Company at Mississippi State for four years and has taught ballet, tap and jazz for 10 years.
She currently teaches ballet and pointe at Dancetera in Norco. A 2020 graduate of Mississippi State University, Laura now works as a Special Education teacher at Albert Cammon Middle School.
In the role of Junior/Senior Company Creative Director, Sullivan will coordinate all activities of the RRB Junior and Senior Company, including auditions, master classes, performances, and other events designed to enhance company members’ knowledge and skills of the world of dance.
“I am so excited to be back home and working with the Junior and Senior Company dancers. Having been a company member previously, I can’t wait to share my love and passion for dance with our company members!” explained Sullivan.
The River Region Ballet, Inc. was established in 1995 to introduce ballet classics along with contemporary works to both dancers and patrons in the outlying areas of New Orleans. RRB strives to be inclusive in its productions as it brings together seasoned professionals and budding young dancers to educate, inspire and enhance the art of dance in the River Parishes.
