LAPLACE — It took a few days, but a man police said exited a local store without paying for three televisions had the bill come due in the form of an arrest.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Therill Dennis Tuesday, charging him with theft by shoplifting $500-$1500 and violation of probation/parole.
He remains in custody on a $2,500 bond and probation/parole hold.
Deputies began the case when they responded to Walmart in LaPlace Friday following a shoplifting report from an incident the night before.
A Walmart Loss Prevention employee reported the shoplifting was recorded on video surveillance.
“Detectives reviewed the video and saw a man put three televisions in a shopping basket then exit the store,” a release from the Sheriff’s Office said. “Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Therill Dennis, 22, from Reserve.”
A judicial court-ordered arrest warrant was obtained for Dennis.
