Marlene Simon Cambre, 71, was born on Aug. 30, 1942 and passed away on Aug. 14, 2014.

She was a native of St. Rose and a resident of Independence.

She is survived by her husband, Harris “Buddy” Cambre; her children: John Cortinas, Lisa Westmeyer, Connie Falcon, Karen Carter, Candice Cortinas, and step-children: Dawn Oubre, Vivian Waguespack, Suzie Bloomer, Michael Hilton, and Gregory Hilton.

She will be greatly missed by her 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as her brothers: Curtis Simon and Darryl Simon, and her sister Diane Theisges.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albin Simon and her mother, Annie Zeringue Simon.

Visitation will be on Monday from 8 to 11 a.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave. in Lutcher, with a religious service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
