Florence Hymel Bourgeois, 87, was born Feb. 10, 1927, and passed away on Aug. 15, 2014.

She was a native of Central and a resident of Gramercy.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gaston J. Bourgeois Jr.; her sons: Chris Bourgeois and wife Kathy, Brian Bourgeois and wife Sara, and Lynn Bourgeois and wife Liz, as well as her daughter, Janine Kosztolanyi and husband Kevin.

She will be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sevien Joseph Hymel, and Edna Luquette Hymel; her infant brothers: Lynn and Stanley Hymel; her sisters: Marie H. Zeringue, Thelma H. Roussel and Marie “Bouke” Bourgeois.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Choir, the Riverside Garden Club and a Cub Scout Den-Mother.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 9:00 to 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gramercy, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Paulina.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
