LUTCHER — On Friday May 29, Wayne Fields, known to everyone as “Rootbeer” was walking on King Avenue in Lutcher when he was struck by a vehicle. The hit and run occurred between 11:10 and 11:29 p.m. Rootbeer was transported to an area hospital where he remains.

The St. James Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with any information to please call 225-562-2200.
