SJSO investigates drive-by

LAPLACE – Detectives with the St. John Sheriff’s Office are investigating a drive-by shooting that left two men injured. At about 4 p.m. on May 5, officers responded to the 2300 block of Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a 48-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen lying in a residential driveway and a 23-year-old male victim with a graze wound to the buttocks standing outside the residence.
Emergency medical services provided aid to the 48-year-old victim and transported him to a New Orleans area hospital where he is in stable condition. The 23-year-old victim refused treatment.
In related news, detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating this truck pictured in this article. The suspect vehicle is a blue Ford F-150 FX4 Platinum late model with switched plate LA X787131 last seen heading east on Interstate 10, exiting I-310 then traveling east on Airline Highway.
No motive is known at this time.
