Sunday Update: St. John reports 642 cases of COVID-19

LAPLACE — As of the Sunday update from the Louisiana Department of Health, there have been 642 reported cases of COVID-19 and 53 deaths in St. John the Baptist Parish.

On Saturday, there were 627 recorded cases and 53 deaths in St. John Parish.

St. Charles Parish has 488 reported cases and 28 deaths, while St. James has 218 reported cases and 15 deaths.

Statewide, there are 23,928 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across all 64 parishes. This marks an increase of 348 cases since yesterday’s report.

The virus has spread in all Louisiana parishes. There have been 1,296 deaths, up 29 from Saturday. The first death in the state was reported on March 14.

According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,748 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state. Of these patients, 349 are on ventilators.
