LAPLACE — A COVID-19 testing site in LaPlace is in need of four non-clinical volunteers per day to help with traffic control.
This will be a testing site for first responders and healthcare workers at the LaPlace Walmart, located at 1616 W. Airline Highway. The site is expected to remain open for approximately four weeks.
All volunteers must register through ramusa.org and go through a background check prior to reporting at the testing site at 8 a.m. Volunteers will be given the appropriate personal protective equipment to stay safe and healthy.
Volunteers cannot be in the following high-risk categories as outlined by the CDC: Age 65 or older, nursing/pregnant, or experiencing any health issues (diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, lung disease or immunosuppression). People should not volunteer if they are feeling sick or unwell.
