St. John the Baptist Parish Guilty Pleas

Emile Delaneuville pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated – third offense. The defendant is to serve four years in the Department of Corrections.

Two years are to be served without benefits of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. He was given credit for all time served from Feb. 6, 2019, amounting to 262 days.

Derrel Joseph pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. The defendant is to serve eight years in the Department of Corrections without benefits of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

He was given credit for all time served since Sept. 14, 2017. He also must pay a fine in the amount of $1,000 and a court cost of $315.

The St. John Parish District Attorney’s Office is no longer prosecuting Joseph for possession with intent to distribute heroin; possession, distribution, manufacture of schedule III drugs; possession with intent to distribute a schedule IV; or possession of a firearm w/CDS.

Steven Sylve pleaded guilty to possession of weapon by a convicted felon. He is to serve 8.5 years in the Department of Corrections without benefits of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

Sylve was given credit for all time served since May 9, 2018. He must pay a fine of $1,000 and a court cost of $315.

He is no longer being prosecuted for possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number.

Emmett Ferrygood rearraigned and pleaded guilty to possession of tramadol. The defendant was sentenced to three years D.O.C., suspended. He was placed on three years of active probation and given credit for all time served since August 1, 2019. He must pay a fine of $1,000, a court cost of $315 and a public defender’s fee of $550.
