Lutcher/Gramercy Lions Club pumpkin patch open until October 31

LUTCHER — The Lutcher/Gramercy Lions Club is hosting its annual Pumpkin Patch from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from now until Oct. 31. Located at the St. James Welcome Center, 1094 US Highway 61 in Gramercy, the event will feature a haunted house, country store, pavilion, and a nature trail. Hay rides will also be available.
The added bonus of a petting zoo will and Yvonne’s Directions in Dance performances will take place on Oct. 19. Concessions will also be sold including jambalaya, hot dogs, hamburgers, snowballs and sweets.
On Oct. 27 there will a 5K run/walk, which will offer participants the unique opportunity to walk on the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. with the race time being 9 a.m. Runners will be bused across the bridge starting at 8:40 a.m. and runners will run or walk back.

Without a tee shirt, the fee is $15; shirts are guaranteed with online registration and given out on race day while supplies last. Post-race refreshments will be provided and awards will be given after scoring. Proceeds from the race will go to the Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children and the St. James Parish Law Enforcement Torch Run for Louisiana Special Olympics.
