LAPLACE – The LaPlace Stage Store is closing and becoming an off-price store.
The effort is part of its parent company’s goal to convert 70 to 80 of its stores to the Gordmans banner, which has been underway since March.
Stage Stores acquired 48 stores and a distribution center from Gordmans in 2017 after the company filed for bankruptcy and decided to liquidate.
According to the Gordmans website, “Bargain finders everywhere are falling in love with our brand name apparel and stylish home décor at prices that are way lower than department stores. “ Items sold include make-up, clothes, footwear, gifts and home décor such as pillows, candles and seasonal. Fresh new items are delivered each week.
The website also has a blog with articles on beauty, fashion, food, décor and party and event ideas.
An email from Stage Stores states the conversion will take place in 2020, noting that Stage-brand private label credit card, Style Circle Rewards and Stage-brand gift cards will still be valid at Gordmans.
During the transition to Gordmans, current associates will be offered jobs. Additional associates will be hired during job fairs, which will be announced at a later date. To learn more about Gordmans, visit gordmans.com.
