Elmire “Sis” Kaczmarek, 92, of Lutcher passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Kaczmarek; her daughter Joette Donnelly; parents, George and Stella Jacob; and her brothers, Chester, Jean, David and Murphy.
She is survived and will be missed by her daughter, Letty Kale (William); grandson, Sean Donnelly; granddaughters, Megan Donnelly Perkins, Katie Shupe Assouad; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Marjorie Frady (Joseph) and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Sis was born August 7, 1921, in Reserve to George and Stella Jacob. She moved to Chicago, her husband’s hometown, in 1945.
They settled in Chicago for the next 35 years, raised their family, and Sis spent many years as a customer service representative for Ford Motor Co.
Sis and her husband Joseph retired to Louisiana in 1980 and settled in Lutcher. They spent their remaining years appreciating the warmer climate of the South, renewing old friendships, making new ones and enjoying a leisurely retirement.
A graveside service will be held at St. Peter Church, 1550 Highway 44 in Reserve, on June 13 at 11 am.
