BATON ROUGE – In recognition of Independence Day, Louisiana is announcing discounts that will allow all military members and first responders to enjoy the beauty of Louisiana State Parks.

These special discounts, effective through the end of 2019, will provide for a 15 percent discount off rentals of campsites, cabins, lodges, group camps, conference centers, and pavilions at Louisiana State Parks properties.

Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser said the discounts are a perfect way to celebrate American independence.

“…We wanted another way to show our gratitude and honor our military, past and present, and our first responders for the hard work they do protecting our freedoms and our lives daily,” Nungesser said. “They are the true heroes who continue to selflessly serve our nation and communities to ensure we can celebrate our independence every year.”

Discounts can be applied every day of the week for active duty military, Veterans, retirees, National Guard and reservists. The discount code to enter when booking a reservation online is MILITARY.

For local, state, and federal governmental public safety, fire, law enforcement, and emergency response personnel, discount can be applied to stays of Monday nights through Thursday nights. The discount code to enter when booking a reservation online is BADGE.

The discounts are valid using the Louisiana State Parks online reservations system at ReserveLaStateParks.com and cannot be used with other discounts.

Proper identification will be required at check-in.
