LAPLACE — Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana and Ochsner Blood Bank are teaming up to save lives this summer.
Ochsner’s Bloodmobile will be set up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 6 in the LaPlace Goodwill parking lot, located at 101 Carollwood Drive
Donors will receive a 50 percent off coupon good for that day at the LaPlace Goodwill and a Fourth of July themed blood bank T-shirt. Additionally, a financial donation to Homes for Our Troops will be made in each donor’s name.
The need for blood goes up on Independence Day due to the increase of injury associated with the holiday. Those interested in donating blood are reminded to bring a photo ID, eat a full meal, and drink plenty of water before donating. Individuals taking medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol can also donate.
