Police: Reserve man killed, 3 others injured in drive-by shooting

RESERVE — A group of individuals were standing outside Wednesday night in Reserve when gunfire erupted.
According to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle approached at approximately 10:30 p.m., spraying a string of bullets at the group, striking four and eventually killing one local man.
Upon arrival to the scene in the 300 block of Homewood Place in Reserve, deputies did not locate any victims in the area. They did learn several shots were fired from a vehicle towards a crowd of people standing outside a residence.
Shortly after, officers responded to Ochsner Medical Complex–River Parishes in LaPlace in reference to four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police identified the injured victims as two 21-year-old males and one 19-year-old male. Those three were treated and released.
Another victim, identified as 20-year-old Kyree Jones of Reserve, succumbed to injuries suffered in the shooting, police said.

Citizens with information about the shooting that call Crimestoppers do not have to testify and may qualify for a cash reward.
