DESTREHAN — The bus left at 7 a.m. Sunday from the American Legion Post in Destrehan to bring the members of this years Boy’s State to Natchitoches and drop them off at Northwestern State University.
Laplace Post Chaplain and Boy’s and Girl’s State Chairman Gene Franques accompanied this year’s selected young men.
Arriving at 11 a.m., the participants registered and began their week-long stay.
Franques said he would be on the bus Saturday to go back and retrieve the participating representatives, who will complete a week’s worth of state governmental education.
Franques anticipates interviewing the new graduates on their return trip home.
LaPlace Post 383 sent four students from two local schools, which include St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace and Riverside Academy in Reserve, including Peyton Falgoust, Jeffery Millet, Jordan Andrews and Jacob Venus.
