LAPLACE — A local man is behind bars, charged with raping a 19-year-old woman last week.
Tie Jamal Reese of Reserve was arrested Tuesday for second degree rape.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Reese was also wanted on a fugitive warrant for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Reese, 38, is being held in custody on a $65,000 bond.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives learned Reese entered a 19-year-old victim’s residence late Thursday evening and began making sexual advances toward the female.
When the woman refused Reese’s advances, he allegedly forced her to have sexual intercourse, police said.
Following the incident, the victim was taken to a hospital for evaluation and authorities were alerted Friday.
Based on investigation, detectives obtained a judicial warrant, and Reese was arrested this week.
