2 earn Joseph/Wilson scholarships

Each year, Joseph/Wilson Club Social No. 25 awards two scholarships to deserving seniors.

Ariel Mitchell of Vacherie received a $500 scholarship. 

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Mitchell, and is a graduate of West St. John High School.

She was active in the Beta club, 4-H club and the LA Gear Up/Explorers club, and enjoys helping others.

Ariel has been accepted to Xavier University of Louisiana, where she plans to major in pharmacology.

Darri Yonne Anderson of Lutcher has received a $250 scholarship. She is the daughter of the late Nedia Anderson and Darrington Anderson.

She is a graduate of Lutcher High School, where she was active in the Color Guard, serving as captain, and an executive board member of the student council.

She is a member of the First Community Antioch Baptist Church and the Girls Enrichment Program.

She plans to attend Baton Rouge Community College to study nursing.
