Motorist killed Sunday in Garyville crash

GARYVILLE — A New Orleans woman was ejected and killed as the result of a Sunday crash in Garyville, authorities said.
Louisiana State Police Troop B officers identified the victim as 23-year-old Jamie Andrada.
Shortly before 3 a.m., Troopers began investigating the fatal crash on Airline Highway near Marathon.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Ford Focus was stopped, for reasons still under investigation, in the right lane, near the right shoulder on Airline Highway South.
A Ford F-150, driven by 53-year-old Jeffery Keys of LaPlace, was traveling south on Airline Highway in the right lane. The Ford impacted the rear of the Ford Focus.
The driver of the Ford Focus, Andrada, was ejected through the rear windshield and pronounced dead on the scene.
Keys was wearing a seat belt and was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the Ford Focus was not belted at the time of the crash.
Impairment is unknown at this time, pending toxicology results. The crash remains under investigation.
