SJSO spreads holiday cheer

EDGARD — St. John Parish Sheriff’s officers recently led bingo games for clients at Place Dubourg and the St. John Council on Aging senior centers in Edgard and Reserve.
The SJSO Santas, also known as Leonard Sanders Sr., Roy Vicknair and Kenneth Mixon, and SJSO Elves Javonna Cordova, Nataly Beck, Claudette Edwards and Maria Dantin, along with several other officers, provided Christmas cookies and assisted with the games. Several prizes were awarded to the bingo winners.

The SJSO Santa, elves and officers also posed for pictures with the seniors.
Christmas bingo with the seniors has become one of the department’s favorite community outreach events of the year, said Lt. Greg Baker, who organized the visits.
The SJSO hosted bingo for clients of the St. John Council on Aging Senior Center in Reserve.
