LAPLACE – A man slumped over a steering wheel in LaPlace prompted a concerned citizen to call police recently.
On the evening of Jan. 6, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Louisiana Highway 628 and Cardinal Street in LaPlace for the report of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a car.
The subject was identified as Shawn Fisher, 43, of Williamsburg Drive in LaPlace.
Fisher was arrested and booked with DWI by combination of alcohol and drug and improper stopping. He bonded out of jail on a $2,750 commercial bond.
Fisher has been arrested 82 times in St. John Parish since January 1989.
Most recently, Fisher was arrested Sept. 16, 2013. That arrest occurred after an attempt to stop his vehicle on Louisiana Highway 44 in Reserve led to a brief high-speed chase and ended when Fisher fled from his car on foot.
