LAPLACE – As a process server, Deputy Brian Landry serves as many as 150 legal documents on a weekly basis.

It can sometimes be a thankless task, but Landry performs better than most, according to Warrants Division Commander Captain Randall Joseph, who noted Landry boasts a 95 percent success rate in making contact with individuals that need to be served.

“On many occasions, it is difficult to make contact with individuals being sought, and Deputy Landry sometimes works early mornings, late evenings and weekends,” Joseph said. “Deputy Landry’s work ethic and perseverance proves he is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.”

That work effort was recognized this week as the St. John Business Association recognized Landry as Officer of the Month during the group’s monthly meeting Wednesday at Petra Restaurant & Lounge in LaPlace.

Landry’s responsibilities consist of serving subpoenas, restraining orders and judgments, as well as assisting mortgage companies and banks with foreclosure proceedings and repossessions.

Sheriff Mike Tregre said Landry plays an essential role in making sure legal papers are served in a highly effective and appropriate fashion, upholding due process of law.

“Deputy Landry is hardworking, honest and dependable and always a team player,” Tregre said.
