Community celebrates Juan A. Ramirez on 98th birthday

A Day of Recognition was held July 22 to honor Juan A. Ramirez of LaPlace on his 98th birthday.
State Senator Gary Smith Jr., Louisiana District 19, diligently worked to Pass Resolution 22 in the Senate to recognize the work Juan Ramirez has done in his community of LaPlace and also with his life.
Senator Smith was not present for the presentation, but sent Lt. Terry Braun to take his place.
Sheriff Mike Tregre presented a beautiful throw with the Sheriff’s emblem, Juan’s name, his age and his birthday sewn on.
After the presentation guests and friends enjoyed food, drinks and spending time enjoying stories of his past.
