EDGARD – The St. John the Baptist Parish School Board will hold a meeting tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at West St. John Elementary School in Edgard.
The agenda lists nine new orders of business. Two executive sessions are also planned to discuss updates on the status of a current lawsuit and pending litigations.
Felix Boughton, director of finance and business for the school district, will present the board with the option to call an election at its Feb. 20 meeting. The election would be for the renewal of existing millages and the rededication of sales taxes, and Boughton said that there would be no proposed raising of any taxes.
Boughton also plans to have the School Board decide whether it wishes to ask St. John voters for permission to issue $30 million in general obligation bonds on Feb. 20. He will outline possible uses for the funds at the meeting on Thursday.
