The St. John East Bank Mississippi River Multi-use Trail will soon be expanded from West 10th Street in Reserve to the St. James Parish line.

Parish Council members authorized Parish President Natalie Robottom to execute documents with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and so DOTD can proceed with Phase IV of the project.

Hayden Canal crossing effort ongoing

Work may soon begin on the much-delayed Hayden Canal crossing project in LaPlace.

Design work is in the final stages and land acquisition letters have been mailed to the remaining property owners with offers to purchase based on appraised value.

Once the land has been secured, the project can move forward, according to officials.
