Sgt. Gilberto Castellanos named Deputy of the Month

Sgt. Gilberto Castellanos was recognized as Deputy of the Month by the St. John Business Association June 13 during the group’s meeting at Petra’s in LaPlace.
Castellanos was honored for an act of kindness he first performed nine years ago, a good deed he continues to carry on today.
Since 2009, during his patrol, Castellanos has sometimes provided a ride to work for a Garyville man who walks to his job on the breakfast shift at the LaPlace Popeye’s.
